Hi, this is R-Hack editorial office. As the year-end is approaching and the weather is gradually getting colder, it is time for Rakuten Group to hold its annual fun event. Today, we would like to share with you Rakuten Group’s internal event “Rakuten Halloween 2024.”
“Rakuten Halloween” is one of the “Rakuten Smile Projects,” an internal project aiming to enhance the engagement and satisfaction of our employees. In addition to Halloween, Rakuten Group also holds events to celebrate the company’s anniversary and to enjoy Japanese summer culture, promoting interaction among employees.
Lately, Halloween has really caught on in Japan as an autumn event. You can enjoy special Halloween decorations at Rakuten Group’s entrance as well!
This year, we had moody autumn-like decorations with white ghosts, silver grass, and purple, green, and gold pumpkins.
The decorations went along with this year’s “Rakuten Halloween” theme, “Spooky Spectacular Halloween.” If you see the decoration, don’t forget to take a picture of it, as it changes every year.
A costume event was held in the company on October 25th. Some wore light costumes such as headbands and hats, while others were geared with detailed, full-body costumes. It was quite a sight! Discovering a different side of your coworkers is fun.
The “Rakuten Halloween” event also hosted a costume photo contest. The winning team would receive Pierre Hermé macarons and Godiva chocolates, so the teams aimed for their best shots.
The cafeteria where free meals are served also featured a special, visually fun Halloween menu.
